Cycle the Cape 6-day Tour Package

Stellenbosch - Elgin Valley – De Hoop Nature Reserve

Itinerary:

Day 1 + 2:  Stellenbosch  |  2 x Nights at Eendracht Hotel & Apartments
Day 3:  Elgin Valley  |  1 x Night at South Hill Vineyards
Day 4 + 5:  De Hoop Nature Reserve  |  2 x Nights at De Hoop Collection

Spend two nights at the elegant Eendracht Hotel & Apartments in picturesque Stellenbosch where fantastic cycle routes are aplenty - from the Stellenbosch Trail Fund-maintained trails along the Eerste river to the many world-class trails in Jonkershoek and Stellenbosch Mountain. You can also enjoy a guided bicycle tour of Stellenbosch and the vineyards with The Adventure Shop (www.adventureshop.co.za) or you can take a Vine Hopper hop on hop off wine tour (www.vinehopper.co.za) or a scenic hike through the winelands, or a ‘foodie’ walk through Stellenbosch;

one night at the luxurious 4-star South Hill Vineyards in the heart of the Elgin Valley - a ‘gateway’ to mountain bike routes, including the Lebanon, Paul Cluver and Oak Valley routes. Other outdoor activities include swimming, hiking, kayaking, river cruises, ziplining, shark cage diving or whale watching (with Marine Dynamics) to apple-picking and bird watching. Or you can sample locally made craft cider, visit the local wineries, or simply relax at the South Hill vineyards;

and then two nights at the outstanding De Hoop Collection, De Hoop Nature Reserve - one of the Western Cape’s largest and most beautiful nature sanctuaries and the playground of the Southern Right whales. Activities abound here – you can walk the Whale Trail (one of the best hikes in South Africa), or take a guided walk through herds of Eland and Bontebok to the ocean, go eco-quad biking, river cruising, scenic game drives, whale-watching or visit the Cape Vulture colony, or savour top-quality wines from William’s Wine Cellar in a silo. And of course, you must ‘Cycle’ De Hoop - from your saddle, on any of the reserve’s many mountain bike trails you’ll get to enjoy the natural beauty and close-up encounters with bontebok, Cape mountain zebra, eland, baboons and ostrich.
