Route 62 6-day Tour Package
Stellenbosch – Montagu - Oudtshoorn
Start off in Stellenbosch - spend two nights at the elegant Eendracht Hotel in Dorp Street in the heart of the oldest part of the town and explore the Cape winelands - take a scenic hike or a Vine Hopper hop on hop off wine tour (www.vinehopper.co.za), or a ‘foodie’ walk, or a guided bicycle tour through Stellenbosch.
Then head north along the famous Route 62 - the scenic alternative to the N2 highway and South Africa’s best road trip route - to Montagu, the gateway to the Little Karoo and well-known for its natural hot springs, heritage, and idyllic setting. Here you’ll spend one night at the 4-star Art Deco style Montagu Country Hotel where you can explore the wide streets lined with Cape Victorian national monuments, discover a wide range of wining and dining options, visit one of the many popular climbing spots in the mountains and for something really different - book a tour to visit the nearby wineries in a classic vintage car from American Dream Cars.
And then it’s onto the ‘ostrich capital of the world’ – the charming town of Oudtshoorn, and then 7 kms from Oudtshoorn the 4-star De Zeekoe Guest Farm, where you’ll spend two nights. Here you can enjoy authentic ‘farm-style’ living and the world-unique opportunity of ‘Walking with Wild Meerkats’ (Five Shy Meerkats); also a wide range of activities that include hiking, birding, canoeing, stargazing, swimming and massages at Karoo Tranquillity, its new salon.
