Cape Country Routes, was started in 1997 by a group of enterprising independent hotels and country inns, to encourage visitors to explore the scenic, romantic and historic routes between Cape Town and Port Elizabeth. Properties are chosen for Character, Charm and Romance.

The aim of the Cape Country Routes brochure is to bring out a collection of recognised routes throughout South Africa with easy to follow maps listing recommended places, independant accommodation establishments, unusual attractions and tours.
Aim of CCR membership: A joint Marketing Venture of hotels, guesthouses, tour operators and attractions promoting the 'roads less travelled'; to provide work opportunities in these areas and to introduce new, different and unique tourism products in a sustainable tourist environment.
Cape Country Routes is a registered Section 21 Company of individualy owned and managed establishments. Members share marketing costs and strive to establish a partnership agreement with a common code of ethics and service standards.
