Kersgat Guest Farm
DESCRIPTION: Kersgat Guest Farm is situated 5km outside the small Village of Elim in the Overberg.  The farm borders the Geelkop Nature Reserve, where the Elim fynbos has been declared the rarest in the world. Visitors can walk along various trails on the farm and enter the nature reserve from the farm.  Experience old fashioned hospitality with a family steeped in the history and tradition of the Elim thatching trade, who are continuing this tradition into the 21th century. The nearby village of Elim was founded by German Moravian missionaries in 1824 and largely inhabited by members of the Moravian Church, where traditional thatched cottages line the streets.  Visit the Museum, historic watermill and church. On Sundays a brass band plays before the church service at 10am.
