De Hoop Nature Reserve is situated east of Bredasdorp on the world-renowned Garden Route and Whale Route. The nature reserve is one of the few that offers a full outdoor experience with the sea, sand dunes and diverse antelope among other offerings. Known to have the best hiking trails, hikers and cyclists have had intimate sightings of the Bontebok, Cape Mountain Zebra and Elands. The Nature Reserve has a wide variety of pastimes for guests including world class whale watching in season. The De Hoop accommodation caters for all guests with accommodation ranging from the affordable self-catering chalets to the upmarket fully catered lodges. The Fig Tree Restaurant is open daily for meals. Day visitors welcome.

From self-catering chalets and cottages, to upmarket, fully-catered suites, the accommodation options are as varied as the fynbos. Configurations range from the romantic and luxurious Stable Suites for two, to spacious family cottages that sleep six.
The Opstal Manor House provides fully catered accommodation – offers 3 bedrooms en suite.Situated on the far side of the vlei is the old-world farm architectural style Melkkamer Manor House characterized by rich sandstone – offers 4 bedrooms with equipped kitchens for self catering getaways, or book as a catered option. Self-catering cottages range from basic rondawels to well-equipped cottages ideal for families or groups of friends.
